De Baets AIT Racing Team scores strong points haul in Sardinia

The De Baets AIT Racing Team collected valuable points during the MXGP of Sardinia in Riola Sardo.

In the MX2 class, Lotte van Drunen once again competed against the men. She recorded 20th place in both the timed practice and the qualifying race. During Sunday’s motos, she managed to improve further with two 18th-place finishes, resulting in 20th overall and 6 World Championship points.

In the EMX250 class, Vencislav Toshev had a solid weekend. After setting the 23rd fastest time in practice and finishing 23rd in the first moto, he bounced back strongly in the second moto with an impressive 12th-place finish. This earned him 18th overall.

Cole McCullough experienced a difficult weekend. After setting the 28th fastest time in practice, he was unable to finish in either of the motos.

Torre van Mechgelen showed good speed with the 10th fastest time in his practice group. However, he encountered technical problems in the first moto and had to retire from the race. In the second moto, he fought back strongly and was rewarded with 15th place, giving him 20th overall and 6 points.

Following the race in Riola Sardo, the De Baets AIT Racing Team now shifts its focus to the next event: the MXGP of Trentino in Arco di Trento.
