Bittersweet trip to Argentina for Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee

Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee ventured outside of Europe for the third stop of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Grand Prix of Patagonia-Argentina. Argentina had not featured on the Grand Prix schedule in three years, because of the pandemic that rocked the globe, so returning to South America was an exciting prospect for everyone on the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee squad.

The Grand Prix of Patagonia-Argentina started with so much promise for Gifting – he qualified seventh but seemingly had top-three speed aboard his KTM 250 SX-F. The first stint was extremely exciting for the many fans in attendance; another seventh-place ranking was a not a true representation of just how well he rode, as he had a quicker lap time than the rider in third!

Breaking into the top three was a priority in the second moto and he appeared set to do exactly that. Gifting started in second and did not look out of place at the very front, until a red flag caused the race to grind to a halt. Unfortunately, Gifting crashed out on the first lap after the restart and was unable to continue. News on his condition will be published as soon as it is available.
 
The Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee effort will benefit from a weekend off now, before turning attention to the upcoming events on the Grand Prix calendar.

Bryan Connolly (Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee Team Manager): "It's a tough end to what could have been a great weekend. Isak showed some impressive speed in qualifying and then again on race day, especially in the moments before the red flag came out in moto two. The crash after the restart was unlucky. We will return to Europe, get Isak to a specialist and then make a plan."
