Febvre and Valk Remain Unbeaten in Dutch Masters of Motocross |
Romain Febvre and Cas Valk continue their unbeaten streak in the Dutch Masters of Motocross. The second round of the championship was held at the Oldebroek circuit, where Febvre dominated both motos in the 500cc class, while Valk did the same in the 250cc class. It was also a highly successful day for the Van Mechgelen family, with Douwe taking the win in the 125cc category and Torre clinching victory in the 85cc class.
The 500cc class featured intense battles in both motos. Romain Febvre led from start to finish in each race, but he didn’t have it easy—Jeffrey Herlings and Jago Geerts pushed him hard. Herlings made his return to Dutch soil following an injury and impressed with 2-3 finishes, earning him second overall. Geerts, with 5-2 results, completed the podium. Fantic riders Andrea Bonacorsi and Brian Bogers rounded out the top five in the day’s standings.
Cas Valk asserted his dominance in the 250cc class, winning both motos and taking the overall victory. Janis Martins Reisulis finished second with consistent 3-3 results, followed by Karlis Alberts Reisulis (7-2). Noel Zanocz claimed fourth, just ahead of a strong-performing Damien Knuiman in fifth.
The 125cc class saw fierce competition right up to the checkered flag. Douwe van Mechgelen came out on top with 2-1 finishes, taking the overall win and the championship lead. Dani Heitink (2-4) secured second overall, ahead of Dean Gregoire (4-3). Cole McCullough won the first moto but received a five-position penalty for refueling after the sighting lap, dropping him to sixth. He bounced back with a second-place finish in moto two, ending the day in fourth overall, ahead of Dex van den Broek (3-8).
Torre van Mechgelen scored maximum points in the 85cc class, claiming his first-ever victory in the category. Casey Karstrom took second overall with 3-2 moto finishes, while Jaggar Townley secured third with 2-5 results.
The next and final round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross will take place this Sunday in Markelo.
