XXXVII INTERNAZIONALI D'ITALIA MX EICMA SERIES

The first day of racing of 2024 begins with the success of the Dutch Gyan Doensen (KTM) who, after having signed the 24MX Pole Position in the morning practice, won the first moto ahead of the Finn Kasimir Hinderson (KTM) and the Hungarian Noel Zanocz, with Cole McCoullough (Fantic), fourth. In race 2 the British takes the lead, taking the Raven Hole-shot ahead of Doensen and Simone Mancini (Fantic), with Zanocz lagging behind. However, the Hungarian recovers quickly and takes the lead after 6 laps, while Doensen crash while trying to follow the rival. Zanocz cross the finish line first ahead of McCoullough and Doensen. On the podium, Zanocz achieve the first success of the season with 45 points, with Doensen second on equal points and McCullough third with 40.

In MX2 Simon Langenfelder (GASGAS) in the morning did the 24MX Pole Position and started behind Oriol Oliver (KTM Raven Hole-shot) and Andrea Adamo (KTM) and takes the lead after two laps, flying towards a solo success, while Adamo finished second, taking advantage of Oliver’s mistake at the end. The Spaniard believes the race is over with still one lap to go, letting Adamo pass and finish second ahead of him, with Ferruccio Zanchi (Honda) fourth after a tough start due to a crash. In race two Quentin Prugnieres (Kawasaki) scored the Raven Hole-shot, leading the group for the first three laps, while Langenfelder crashed at the first corner, involving Adamo who did not restart. During the fourth lap Oliver takes the lead of the heat, followed by Prugnieres and Zanchi who fell but recovers and passes his two rivals, finishing in first place ahead of Oliver and Prugnieres, with Langenfelder fourth. On the podium the Italian from HRC is first on equal points with the GASGAS rider and Oliver third by just one point.

In the premier class, Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) started first, winning the Raven Hole-shot, ahead of Glenn Coldenhoff (Fantic) and Tim Gajser (Honda). The Slovenian that scored the 24MX Pole position in qualifying, takes the lead of the heat during the second lap and flies towards the finish line, crossing first after 16 laps, with a 4 second advantage over Febvre who follows him throughout the heat and Maxime Renaux (Yamaha), third. In race two, Coldenhoff hits the Raven Hole-shot, with Jago Geerts (Yamaha) second and Gajser third, who manages to take the lead after 4 laps, making a solo race, with Coldenhoff crashing and giving up second place to Renaux who crosses the finish line behind the five-time world champion, in front of the Dutchman and Febvre who climbs onto the podium behind Gajser and Renaux.

The first seasonal appointment with the Internazionali d’Italia EICMA Series Motocross 2024 ends with the success of Tim Gajser (Honda) in MX1, Ferruccio Zanchi (Honda) in MX2 and Noel Zanocz (Fantic) in 125.
