Super successful weekend for iXS hostettler Yamaha

The Grand Prix of Sardegna is a rather unique challenge for the riders – the bottomless sand of Riola Sardo is something that very few stars can conquer. Kevin Brumann prospered at the eighth stop of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship, as he pulled in more points and continued to progress whilst representing iXS hostettler Yamaha on the world's greatest stage.

Thanks to such an impressive display aboard his YZ250F, the iXS hostettler Yamaha tent was brimming with positivity throughout the weekend. Claiming tenth in the qualifying heat on Saturday was a brilliant way to start proceedings and then, to stamp his authority even more, he backed that up with an eleventh place in moto one. There was more top-ten pace on show in the second moto; he battled towards the front of the pack yet again and secured tenth. Eleventh overall was the reward for such a brilliant weekend of racing.

The success did not stop there for iXS hostettler Yamaha – Valentin Guillod had one of his best showings of the season at the penultimate round of the French Elite series! Racing around the old-school track of Villars sous Ecot, Guillod started the opening MX1 stint in second before leaping into the lead at the halfway mark. There was no stopping him at that point; he raced to the win with a five-second advantage. The second moto was even more dominant, as he led from start to finish and clinched the overall with conviction. 37 points is the deficit that he now faces to the championship leader.

Valentin Guillod's set to join Kevin Brumann at round nine of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Grand Prix of Spain, on May 29. '92' will make his first appearance in the Grand Prix paddock since the season opener in February.

Kevin Brumann: "I had a good feeling from the beginning on this track; the flow was there. My starts were not actually the best, but I was good through the first couple of corners and found flow immediately. P11 and P10 in the motos is a good step in the right direction. We will keep working!"

Valentin Guillod: "Two moto wins and first overall at the French Elite series! I am super happy with the day; it was a consistent one with pole position, good starts, the fastest lap times and both moto wins. Thank you so much to my mechanic and team, who give me the best platform possible to go racing for wins across Europe."
